原題「Aerosmith / I don’t want to miss a thing 」
映画「アルマゲドン」の主題歌として有名なAerosmithの「I don’t want to miss a thing」。映画ヒロインとして登場する女性はAerosmithのヴォーカル、スティーブン・タイラーの娘である。作詞はシンガー・ソングライター、ダイアン・ウォーレンであるが「もともとセリーヌ・ディオンのような人に歌ってもらうつもりで書いた曲」であると語っている。つまりタイタニックの主題歌のようなものをイメージして作られたのだが、Aerosmithがこれを引き受けたことで初期の想定と全く異なる魅力を持った曲となった。
恋人を思って書かれた曲であると考えられるが、スティーブン・タイラーはきっと娘を思ってこの曲を歌っているのかもしれない。以前LIVEでAerosmithを拝聴した際にはこの曲で思わず号泣してしまったが、娘ができた今では翻訳しながらでも泣くことができた（笑）。
邦題「エアロスミス / ミス・ア・シング」
ちなみにリリースされた1998年時点でエアロスミスはキャリア28年。全米シングルチャート１位を初めて獲得したのが「ミス・ア・シング」だった。また「ミス・ア・シング」は、最高の映画音楽の称号「アカデミー歌曲賞」と、最低の映画音楽である「ゴールデンラズベリー賞」の両方にノミネートされた極めて珍しい楽曲でもある。（アルマゲドン主演のブルース・ウィリスはゴールデンラズベリー賞の最低男優賞を見事受賞）
